I have Interview in NYU in march. I want to ask is it possible that i can extend my file for next year without going for interview. or it will creat bad impression for me & they will not call me next uear. if anyone knows about it pls, write me back.

I am pretty sure you can defer only after going through an interview and being accepted. For your own peace you could give a call to Amy Knowles at NYU (212-998-9936), she is very helpfull - and don't worry about bad impressions - there are soo many of us, they can't keep a track.
