Hi,
So I am going to be taking my mcat June 21st, but I am not scoring as high as Id like. I am ranging from 28-32 as of now. I am submitting my primary application in a few days. However, my main question is that if I think that this mcat doesnt go so well, should I still try to take my mcat again at the end of july in the hopes that a new score would have been received by the score by the time I get an interview (lets say i atleast got an interview lol ) I am applying for both MD and DO schools but aiming for MD. I am a NJ resident and wish to attend either RWJ or NJMS. I have great EC and decent grades. Any advice would be appreciated.

also, does anyone know how long primaries are taking for verification? I am submitting mine this week. I am hoping this does not make my application late.

Your scores from June 21st won't be up till end of July. So, you can't really just wait to see how this one goes and then take it again. You'll have to sign up directly after this mcat and study until your scores come up. Seems to me if your going to be studying that whole time anyway, why not just push the mcat back a little more?

yeah i was planning on studying until by scores come out regardless because incase i needed to take my mcat over and take a year off i would still try to squeeze in the mcat during the summer time when i can focus.

and in terms of pushing it back more, how late can i really push it back and still be ok for this cycle?

if your mcat is the only thing holding you back, then you can submit your primary to get verified and then schools will review your application after your mcat has been released. And according to most people's guide on SDN, early is June/July and too late is having everything in past August for MD. So a July mcat isn't lethal especially if you are already verified. For DO the cycle is longer so a July mcat is no big deal.

Would a later July date for an mcat work? I'm going to wait until I see my scores for this attempt. Njms starts to give out interviews in August, I'm hoping the first mcat score is enough to land me an interview
