Currently a grad intern with CVS and I absolutely hate it. Unorganized, lack of communication between the district office and pharmacy managers. My training store didn't know I was going to be training at their store. so that first week was horrible. I'm not learning anything and have found myself in an awkward position now. I've been proactive and have addressed it multiple times with my pharmacy manager and the district in very approachable manners but still there is a lack of action on their part. I even asked if I could move to another store and they said no.

So, I'm looking for other job opportunities at the moment. I may or may not have scored an interview with Target but I'm still waiting to hear back from the recruiter. This would be my 6th attempt at interviewing with them. I've had 3 sets of interviews with them so far and I've progressed to the 2nd or 3rd interviews but I always seem to burn out during that last step. I really want to work for the company because I just love the culture, the learning experience, and the amount of opportunities they have. I'm willing to do anything at this point to work for them.

If I do get an interview with them, should I be upfront with them about the # of times I've interviewed with Target? Do you think they red flag people that they have rejected in their application system? I don't know what to do. Please help!

I think you're making the right decision. The job market is tight and we all have hefty student loans. That doesn't mean we should stick it out with a job we hate and with cvs whom are known to treat pharmacists like white collar slaves.

I'd stick it out with cvs while you are job hunting for a target position. It's important to be employed and have income coming in. I don't think interviewing for multiple target pharmacist positions is frowned upon. There's a reason why it's harder to land a position with target vs cvs - more applicants applying to target vs cvs hence more competition. If anything, applying multiple times shows dedication and enthusiasm to work for the company. It shows you are interested in staying with the company for the long hall and won't jump ship after a year. You may even want to bring up that in your next interview.

Good luck!
