hey guys

for those that are famililar with the med school app and admissions stuff...does anyone know that if one does postbacc, is it better to get a masters degree or just take some classes (via open university) for grades? i actually graduated with a bio degree but kinda have too low of a gpa to apply. do admissions committee like it better if you get a masters or does it not matter? any insights appreciated guys. thanks

not really sure b/c i didnt do it... but some schools have programs specifically for bostbachs where they take classes with the med students... i think they get a masters when its done and most of them also have a research project going on.

Georgetwon, Columbia, UMDNJ have them... maybe theres something on their websites about it.

i would imagine it looks better to have a masters, but thats just my opinion, no first hand knowledge.
