I guess you can say I'm a non-traditional applicant. I'm also a re-applicant. It's been a long tough cycle. I'm not going to submit this to any med schools in an update because I have a feeling it wont help my chances. But in the event that I do get taken off a waitlist, I thought I'd do something I enjoy now because I might not have a chance later (as I recommend everyone do). My friends and I made a 5 minute film recently and I need some advice on editing. I'm wondering if any of you guys could check it out and maybe comment on what could be improved.

Um, well, I thought for 5-10 minutes on how I could sugarcoat this but I just can't figure out a way to. I don't know if any editing could help this, bland acting, dull script and it's just not funny, at all. It was really hard to watch the full 5 minutes, Sorry?

You really tell it like it is. That's good, I like that. I hope the whole med school thing works out, because i guess i dont have a future in film. At least the girls in the film were cute though, right?

Well its really interesting to know your hobbies, which you want to pursue. But to be frankly with you i feel every field requires expertise, which one can be bank upon. If you truly feel that you have the zeal to make it large through media field then think & discuss about it with your family.

ALRIGHT whipplewhilewework, take it easy. and ryank I think you need to lighten up a little bit. i bet you're one of those guys that thinks GLEE is funny. it you want something difficult to watch, try taking on an episode of that crap. the acting isn't that bad here- especially from the guy in the white shirt- and the script isn't terrible for something only 5 minutes long, everything ties together in the end.

Glee, really? If you think this is good you should spend a little time on youtube. There are hundreds if not thousands of amateur film makers out there now that make decent films. Just look around at the other videos that the CampusMovieFest account that posted yours has up. What has been posted is equivalent to the kind of stuff I saw in high school when there was some project that you had to make a clip for. It was pretty crappy and didn't seem to have any real point or humor to it.

It looks pretty immature to ask for criticism then lash out when you don't like what you get, you should be happy no one else really replied because it wouldn't have been any prettier than my post.

Struggling to not sound like a jerk...

I know nothing about this, but really, the acting seemed pretty good to me. Unfortunately, while the acting and script may be good, the camera work, audio, and lack of editing ruin it. It feels painfully amateur, and you should know better if this is a major hobby of yours that you would want to put on your application or something. I don't get the impression that you have studied film production at all. You could have an amazing script and A-list hollywood actors starring in your short, but if you present it like this (each line filmed individually and then slapped together with no regard for continuity in anything) it's still going to look like garbage.

A video like this is not going to impress anyone, and worse, the fact that you don't realize this reflects very poorly on you (if you were to show this to an AdCom or something, for instance). As Ryank said, it feels like a high school school project and not a professional short.

Not going to lie, that was rough.

I'm officially prepared for medical school. After seeing something this terrible, nothing can phase me.

Yes, I am a terrible person, but I'm at least honest.

user12 already posted this video in the reapplicant forum and two ADCOMs told him not to send it to move off the waitlist. This guy is trolling.
