I have taken the dat and scored the following:
PAT:17
Quantitative:16
Reading:21
Biology:21
Gen Chem:18
Org Chem:19
TS:19
AA:19
I have a 3.45 overall GPA, and a 3.25 science GPA. I haven't applied anywhere yet. I was planning on applying to LSU since I am from LA, but the applications are delayed b/c of storm. I haven't really thought of going to any other school but LSU, but I feel now that I should maybe apply somewhere else also. Is it late to apply to other schools, and what do you think my chances are at some other schools now that I am applying late? Any advice is helpful.

I don't think I could consider only applying to ONE school, being how getting in is so competitive. I applied to 14. I'm not saying you need to apply to that many, but you should definitely apply to more than one.

2 long-winded pieces of advice:

1) do you homework before you apply. i highly recommend the 43rd edition of the official guide to dental schools published by the ADEA:

https://www2.adea.org/members/cgi-b...y=&usertype=&new=&cart_id=2765197_2072&page=#

consider buying a copy for yourself because it is full of information about the application process, each individual school, the most recent stats, different career options, how to finance school etc.

if you decide not to buy it, your school's pre-professional office should have a copy of it in their library.

2) you'll want to get moving on your AADSAS application asap. you can start filling out these sections while you are researching your schools. it is important to submit this soon because it takes 4-6 weeks for them to turn it around and mail it out. most schools are already interviewing applicants, so stay motivated to catch up!

best of luck to you!
