I am on quarter system, and I wont be getting my grades until mid june. My gpa is around a 3.7, and this quarter will probably bring it up a few points. Also I am retaking the mcats(original score was 30) on june 18 as well. At first I was planing on submitting my application for verification before july mcat scores comes out but after spring grades are in.

But I am really confused on what the best strategy would be for me to take. The reason why I really want my spring grades in is because winter quarter i took a really easy load and did well, but for spring I took a full course load and I wanted to show the admissions that I can handle the work(+ it will boost my gpa a little). Is this even a legitimate reason?
I figured that since my mcat will be a little late I could just wait for spring grades also.

I have done a lot of search on the forums , and most of there are answers for both sides. Is waiting to submit spring grades going to affect my chances in terms of an early application? And is taking the june 18 mcat problematic? Should I just stick with my 30?

On the amcas application I marked that I am retaking the mcat.. (can I stille submit it early since I checked this box?)

Thanks for the help

There are somethings we don't know about you(state-of-residence, extracurriculars), but for the most part a 3.7/30 should be able to get you in if you don't make an ass of yourself in interviews.

I wouldn't worry about trying to impress admissions with a heavy courseload. That is such a small factor in the grand scheme of things. This is not a legit reason for delaying an application.

All other things aside, I'd stick with the 3.7 and a 30 and just turn it in early. Especially if your extracurrics were even average. Unless you were scoring 35-38 on multiple practice tests and then got a 30 on the real deal, I don't think you have any business retaking.

If you decide against this, I don't believe getting things verified by the end of July is in any way a death-sentence.
