So I have a couple of books that I've bought already but as it's getting closer to actual Step 1 Study time I'm noticing that these are not the latest editions.

Do you think I should buy the latest editions instead?

I would appreciate any advice from anyone taking the test in the coming months or anyone that has taken the test and studied from older books.

I feel like older books shouldn't be much of a problem if I'm going to do UWorld after anyway to cover anything I missed.

Anyway so the editions I'm concerned about are
BRS Physiology 4th edition (new one is 5th edition)
Clinical Microbiology Made Ridiculously Simple 3rd edition ( new one is 5th edition)
my Kaplan set of books I bought used which is 2008 edition (new one is, of course, 2012)
High Yield Embryology 3rd edition (new one is 4th edition)

Thank you for any advice/ input. It will cost a bit of money to buy the latest editions, but do you think it's worth it?

None of the new editions are are needed. Only real new book I would say to get is the Color FA because that makes a world of difference.

I have all of the same books as you, except my CMMRS is the 4th edition (which I wont be using for studying).

For kaplan books, its better just to write in any new stuff they say (if you have the videos).
