I decided to apply to medical school late this year.

I failed a class as an undergraduate and don't know if this is something I need to explain on my AMCAS or in my secondaries? I don't think there's room for it in my essay and don't know if I should bring attention to it or just let the grade I received when I retook the class speak for itself?

I really need some advice!

Thanks so much

unless you have a compelling reason why you failed it, I'd let it go. If they're concerned, they'll ask in the interview. Either way, i'd leave it out of the PS and put it in the extra comments section on most secondaries. The most important thing is to make sure you've taken a more advanced course in that subject or retaken the course to prove you can handle it (unless its a humanities class, then that's probably not a big deal).

I felt like my AMCAS and secondary was the place to sell myself. I didn't put anything that would take away from how wonderful I think I am. In my opinion, the interview is the place to bring up things like that, and then only when they ask. I am sure you are probably worried that you won't get an interview unless you explain your deficiency. If your application is otherwise solid, I wouldn't worry about it.

Advice?

Don't.
