Cumaltive GPA: 3.03 🙁
Pre-req GPA: 3.65
GRE: 1000: 410 V, 590 Q (retaking GRE next month)
HOURS: MANY!! (ortho, peds, acute, sub acute)

These are my stats and just wanted your HONEST opinion on my chances of getting into pt school next year. I plan on applying to Emory (1st choice), western, UNLV, regis, nova, ATSU, USC, chapman, U of Miami, and sammuel merrit. If you also have advice on the likelihood of me getting into one of these specific programs that wil help too. thanks

Well, since your overall gpa is significantly lower than your pre-req gpa, that shows growth, which is good. Definitely retake the GRE and try for a higher score, and try to knock the AW out of the water (go for a 5/6)!

I don't know anything specific about the programs you plan to apply too, but if you have one weak aspect of your application you need to counter it with something strong; and also be prepared to explain potential "blemishes" on your academic record because you may (or may not!) be asked about them at interviews!

Good luck!

Samuel Merritt will not interview you unless you have a miniumum of 450 on the verbal GRE...

Hey I am in my first semester at Emory...I absolutely love the program! Your pre req GPA is strong, and they definitely look closely at that. I would work to pull up the GRE.. I'm pretty sure they are wanting at least a 450 on the verbal, and they look closely at the AW score A's well... If you pull the GRE score up and have a strong essay, I think you definitely have a shot for an interview...
