I haven't received an interview invite from any schools so far. I wanted to prepare myself for next year if I don't get in this cycle.

I was wondering which post-baccs and masters I should look into? Any advice or tips will help! Thank you in advance 🙂

You've haven't given your location. It's like if you asked me where a good place is to eat. Help us help you lol

Maybe they are willing to move so they are asking which ones people know are great for dental students.

To answer your question OP, I have heard that Midwestern AZ biomedical or something masters is really good and you are 95% guaranteed to get into Midwestern AZ upon successful completion. If you applied to Colorado and get rejected, they have a post bacc program for rejected students. Essentially you do one year of post bacc mostly upper division classes and you are guaranteed a seat in the following entering class.

Right. Just pointing them in a direction and maybe they will go seek out information and find people that "know" and might confirm what I said.

I think they would also appreciate your help.

I'll check out Midwestern AZ! Thanks for responding 🙂 Also, yes - I just want to know which ones are generally better for dental schools. The location doesn't really matter. Wishing you the best!

Texas A&M dental school has a masters which I believe garuntees your acceptance if you’re URM. Creighton also has a program like this.

I actually did the Midwestern AZ Masters of Arts in Biomedical Sciences. 95% of students DO NOT get into the school. I thought this was the case when I went, and quickly found out that those numbers were changed drastically the year before I graduated. You are only promised an interview to the school if you have a higher than 3.0 GPA and something like 112 total on your DAT (adding all the sections together). Many, many fellow students interviewed and did not get in because there were stronger applicants who applied regularly across the country over the cycle.

In my graduating class, I only know of ~15 out of 55 people who wanted to go to dental school that actually got in to a dental school throughout the US. I think only about 7 or 8 are going to Midwestern AZ. So about 12% of people who wanted to dentistry actually got into Midwestern AZ dental.

All that said, if your GPA was low like mine, I think it may be your only option. It's an EXTREMELY hard program, I would honestly say that it's harder than Dental School (I'm almost done with my first semester), so be prepared. We had something like 24 exams in 10 weeks our Winter semester, with 6 finals in 5 days. I was the most stressed I have ever been, but for me it was worth it given where I'm at in my life now and how well I'm doing in Dental School. Hope this helps!

same. I want to research my plan B now.. sigh.

I can move to anywhere. please any advice is appreciated!
