My stats are a 3.27 and 24R. I'm gonna take the MCAT again this April and my practice tests are around 27/28 (but will increase a bit more by April). I got a low score on the MCAT before due to a horrible strategy I was abiding by for verbal. Changed my strategy and my verbal went up from 6 to 10. My question is, if I can raise my MCAT to at least 27 by April, which SMP programs do I have a shot at getting into?

Also, I was thinking about applying to Barry University but I've been hearing alot of negative things about it from people on this forum. Is there any merit to this?

A 27 is the minimum required for the programs with the highest requirements (Georgetown, UC, etc...) That said, the actual averages for these programs are much higher than the minumum (Id say around a 30-33). With a 27 Id say you would have a shot at all of them although for the SMPs with higher minimum requirements, it may be more difficult to get in given the averages of the applicants they do take in.

I don't know much about Barry personally so you will have to peruse around to find these- however in my experience, Ive only found a few amongst a handful that left Barry perfectly content. Usually it's what you make most of it.

I think if you get a 27 or above, BU MAMS and Drexel would you be your best bet. But at 27, you are competitive for all of them. Good luck man
