Hello all,

I am recently on a Pre-Dental (Biology) path. I am a sophomore, and was accepted into pharmacy school for this August 2015. I decided pharmacy isn't for me, and that the career outlook was better for dental. I shadowed a dentist and I like the lifestyle associated with a dentist more than a pharmacist....

So I currently have a 3.91. I recently joined a pre-dental club, and I am currently applying for my school's honor program. I work as a Certified Technician at Walgreens. I plan on gaining shadow experience over the summer.

I am looking for any advice that I should do over the next two years in order to prepare an excellent resume.

I am planning on applying to UIC, SIU, and Midwestern since I am an Illinois resident. I also plan on applying to Texas A&M and Harvard, I know these schools are extremely difficult to get into.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Get involved in clubs/governments and run for office.

Prepare for DAT during summer vacations and take it whenever you feel ready before you graduate.

Keep your GPA high.

Shadow during summers and do some research, preferably involving facial bones or head.

Start forming good relationships with professors and dentists for great recommendation letters.

Good luck.

Thank you for your response.

It is normal to take the DAT in the spring semester of Junior year, correct?
