Hello,

I recently took the MCAT and received the following scores: PS=12, VR=7,BS=11, for a total of 30S. I'm currently in my fourth year as an undergraduate and will be applying in 2012. I have a 3.8 cGPA as well as a high 3.8 sGPA. I've also stayed busy outside of the classroom: currently volunteering (100+ hours), TAing (1 yr+), and have started work in a research lab.

I was not born in the states and english is actually my third language. I'm curious if I should gather the strength to improve my score or continue on with life. I was scoring solid 7s on my practice tests for verbal. I was hoping I could also get input on how competitive I would be at some of the following schools (I'm a CA resident).

USC, UCLA, UCI, UCD, NYU, BU, Albert Einstein, Drexel, Georgetown, Loyola, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Tufts, Tulane, University of Miami

I really appreciate any input I can receive,
Thank you in advance.

Well, considering you have a low verbal score, I might look into retaking it. How did you study the first time? By the way, you do realize that in order to stay in CA, you gotta improve your verbal score to at least 10. The avg for Ca schools is just too daunting.

I took a princeton review course from june till august and then refreshed some of the science material. Basically I gave myself 3 months to prepare for the test. My test was one September 10th, I've only had about 8 days to really think about this but I'm of course leaning towards taking it again. Any suggestions on how to improve a second time around? Many people have told me to use exam crackers and to read the economist.
