Hi,
I'm a non-traditional student seeking advice on school selection.

A little bit about me.
Non-traditional student. Going on 29.
GPA: 3.48 / sGPA: 3.42
DAT 26AA / 24 PAT
160 hours shadowing / 200 hours volunteering (50 of which are dental-related)

I come from the Midwest and I'm an OOS at all of the schools below.

UCLA, UCSF, Baylor, San Antonio
I might be wasting my money, but still everyone plays powerball.

UCONN
I like their no class rank / no GPA system. I am hoping to specialize.

Howard, LECOM, NOVA
These are safety schools. I picked these over MWUs because they are cheaper (Howard and Lecom especially).

Tufts, Maryland, New England, UDM, Michigan, Minnesota, Las Vegas, Case, Temple, Pitt, Penn
All great schools with good or reasonable OOS interview and acceptance rate.

Columbia
Great school to specialize, if you don't mind the price tag.

NYU
Good clinical school. Another safety school.

Louisville, BU, VCU, WVA, Buffalo
Not sure if I should apply to these. Any thoughts please?

I would take Howard out if you are not urm.

Despite the 26AA, there are no safety schools. Do not put yourself in that mindset.

You are indeed correct. I didn't mean that I'd easily get into these schools. I actually wasn't sure what to call this category of schools - I'd just call them "in-case schools"
