For the first few years of college my parents were able to pay for me, but now that I'm taking all these sciences + university housing expenses my parents want me to take out a loan. I filled out the FAFSA and was able to get about about 4,000+ in financial aid(stafford + grant). I still need about 5-6k more. What loans do you recommend I apply for based on your experiences or from what you know?

Undergrad loans are based on your income and ranking in school, so if your considered a junior you will get more loans than a sophmore. You were awarded sub and unsub loans correct? If so, that's it for undergrad unless you take out a private loan or get your parents to sign for a parent plus loan.

Talk to your financial aid office. At my school for undergrad they were able to find me a Texas grant that helped pay for the little bit I had left on my bill plus some of my books. There may be something they can do to help that doesn't show up automatically when you fill out the FAFSA. Try to avoid private loans at all costs.
