Advice on what to do?????

Another newbie to this forum. I am loss and desperate. can someone suggest what should I do for next year if not get accept this year?


Here is my situation:

• graduated with a b.s. in engineering (low gpa)
• when back and take prepharm courses and should be done with it next semester. except for A&P 2 I plan to take this last as many schools require only one A&P class. currently taking org I and will take org II next semester. I probably able to get at least a B for these two classes.
• I have more than 200 semester hrs right now and my cum. gpa is about 2.7
• submitted my application to Pharmcas on August
• took pcat twice didn't prepare at all. both times I got below 25%. I will retake this oct and this time I spend countless hrs study for it. so I believe I can do much better this time. however, just found out from pearson that if you score 50 or more than the previous pcat score they'll invalidate your score and won't send it out to schools. you can appeal it but don't know how long it going to take if they will approve your score is legit and send it out. Because of my low gpa I really need to get a high pcat score (probably >80). so am I doom? if I score low this time my application for this year is garbage. if I score high they'll invalidate my score and might have to retake it. I think this is bs. if I score high this time and have to retake again not only it wastes my money but my effort to study for it this time. Haven't figure out what to do yet. I guess I can just concentrate and study for it since I already paid for it and hope for the best.
• I have a year of pharm tech experience.
• I have about 2 years of volunteer work

Here it what I plan to do to improve my application for next year if not get accept this year.

retake classes with a C
bio 1
chem 2
economic: from 1st degree but pharm also require it
anthropoloy: from 1st degree but pharm also require it

physic 1 & 2: got C for both. might retake if I have time.

because I have so many credit even if I retake all these classes (except for 2 physics classes) and get all A's my cum. gpa only improve to ~ 2.8 <===== make me very desperate.

Is this a good plan?

I am very desparate with my situation right now. can someone give me some suggestion (any) that I can improve my application if not this year then next year.

for now just concentrate on the pcat do the best you can .... then worry else after the pcat. good luck

I know some schools mainly only look at your GPA for their pre-reqs. So that could help you a bit.
