I would like some advice from you guys about when to take the DAT.

I plan on taking the DAT 1st week of April. I am pregnant and will have my baby toward the end of April. However, I dont think I am studying that well, because before I could study 6 hours straight and not get tired. But nowadays I dont have that much energy to study. I manage to study 3 hours daily. 🙁
Should I postpone the exam toward end of May?
Or should I still take the exam in April and if necessary I can retake by july?

Also, If i apply by june 1 and send my DAT scores in july... will that delay my application process by putting it on hold? If someone could explain that to me, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks!! 🙂

This summer will be my first time applying as well, but here is what I (think) know.

the application cycle opens up this year June 3rd, lets say you submit your transcripts (inputing your classes and grades and all that garbage) on that same day and you submit. It still takes them like 4 weeks verify everything you typed in with regards to your classes & grades. So meanwhile, you can study and prepare for the DAT.

My suggestion would be for you to... take it easy these days, if you think 3 hours is all you can study, thats ok, do the best you can. but Im pretty sure that after the baby is born, you prolly woun't even be able to do 1-2 hrs of study for the first month. So, do the best you can today. You'll have your baby end of april.... and you might not be able to resume studying till end of May. Submit your application early June and take the DAT early July.

If I was you, study and take the DAT. Then if you are not satisfied with your grades retake the exam. It cant hurt, plus you will familiarize yourself with the exam which cant hurt. From what ive heard its a different ballgame to be takng it in your house on your leather chair and taking it in the testing room with a piece of wood up your ass for 6 hours. If I was you, just study the best you can, it cant hurt and only help. Plus it will make the studying for the next time you take it that much easier. Also what if you take it, do well. Then you dont even have to worry about taking it again.
