Hi yall,

My stats are 12 B 11 P 9 V (R) with a GPA of 3.78 and similar science GPA. I'm thinking my EC and recommendations are just average.

I was wondering if it would be possible for me to get into a school in california. I'm applying to all of them since I really want to stay close to family.

Thanks in advance and g'luck to everyone!

Looks like you have a pretty good chance at most CA schools. I?m assuming you are a resident.

if the rest of your application is strong, then you are competitive. you arent guaranteed anything however. there are so many qualified applicants that apply to CA that have many unique characteristics you can simply have a case of bad luck.

but yeah if everything is good, you would be competitive for an interview.

Yup, you're competitive for California schools, but like others said it is a bit of a crapshoot, so just stay optimistic and hope for the best.

You are fine. Don't worry about it. I think you'll get into one of them.

thank yall for the replies, i'll keep my fingers crossed i guess.

(in response to a previos post, i got my GPA off my school transcript. As far as i can tell, it the same as the AMCA method)

Sure thing, apply to all the Cali schools but be sure you apply elsewhere too and be prepared to move if you really want to be a doctor. Its just realistic to think that way but I wish you the best of luck!

I think she/he meant where (which college) you got your gpa from. Your stat looks like they are in the running for UC schools. But what do I know...I'm applying this year too. 😕

I know a 32/3.8 who didn't get a single interview in CA. Sad, really. She's now going to be attending school in Ohio. Don't opnly apply to CA schools. You might regret it.
