So I'm graduating in Dec 2010 and I'm not applying until May 2011, meaning from the time i graduate until the time i will hopefully enter dental school will be about 1.5 years. I know I want to travel (probably April/May before the application cycle starts), but beyond that i'm not sure.

I was wondering what everyone would suggest doing in the year off. I've had friends that assisted/worked at a dental office, and other friends working in a research lab. What are good options? The pros/cons of each in terms of money and experience? I'm getting nervous because I only have 1 semester left and am anxious to figure out what I'll be doing, any advice would be greatly appreciated 🙂

I think it depends on where you wanna go, or where you are applying cuz some schools are more research-oriented than others so for schools like that research would be the way to go. The best bet would probably be to call and speak to an adviser and see what they tell you.
