Hello everyone!
I am interested in knowing more about these programs. I want to make an informed decision. Any suggestions or information is appreciated.
Any current students with input as well.

THANK YOU!!

I’m interested to see responses to this as well.

Currently a 2nd year at UW. Not familiar with UPS. What would you like to know?

Hi. I just have a couple of questions. How are your classes structured?
What do you like about the program? What do you think could be better about the program?

Thank you!

Classes: foundations first. Our curriculum can be found on our UW DPT site and how it’s all laid our every quarter.

Pros: staff is extremely knowledgeable in their respective fields, seriously. Location.

Cons: Lack a facility dedicated to just PT; space.

I saw that most of the faculty are experts in neurology/pediatrics/acute care and do a lot of research. Do you think that they do a good job with manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and general outpatient-like knowledge? Do you think they do a good job preparing you for an outpatient setting?

And doesn’t DPT share their anatomy lab with nursing, OT and another program?

Thanks for responding!!

DEFINITELY! Our orthopedic professors are amazing. Best of the best - I feel so lucky to be taught by them. Manual therapy is on point. Last year we had a professor step in for our TherEx who doesn't usually teach it, which meant it wasn't as best as it could have been but wasn't terrible.

It's the same lab, but not same class. In lab you'll be with your own cohort (split into 2).

Ok that’s super relieving to hear! Thank you so much for you advice and response! I’m excited to go and check out the campus next week! Hopefully I’ll be able to with all the snow.

The snow has definitely made this quarter interesting - no school for 4 days now. But feel free to reach out to any PT students you might run into, I'm sure it's best to meet people face to face. I remember a prospective student in the past sat in on one of our lectures!

I would love to do that. Hopefully that’s an option when I visit. Im thinking that campus will be closed on Thursday when I come check it out. We’ll see!
