I have an enrollment question for everyone? I didn't do very well in high school because of immaturity and poor study habits. I then went to a technical college to become an RN. I am currently taking classes full time for my BS in nursing and completing all of the prereqs med school. I would like to become a DO but I am not sure how all of these transfer credits work especially from a technical college. Will this make my situation more difficult. Also are there schools that I would have better chances at being accepted to? Background info 26 year old in Wisconsin? Thanks for all of your input!!

I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you concerned with how all of your work from the technical college plus your BSN completion would function during the application cycle? The only thing you would have to do when you apply is make sure that transcripts are sent from all institutions you attended, including the technical college.

The RN may be helpful you have a clinical background and you may be able to use it to bolster your position for medical school. As for your classes at various schools at various times, you have to see if you have all of the classes completed in the correct amount of time. I think that the deadline is 5 years. You will have to talk to somone at your BS granting school to see if they will accept your courses tward your BS.

As long as you get a BS from an accredited college or university, I wouldn't think there would be a problem as long as you made good grades. Half of my BS credits came from a community college and were ok, but admissions looked more closely at my university grades which were much better and let me in no problem. I would guess that as long as your premed courses and nursing grades are good you will be fine. Hope that answers something. 😀

Thanks everybody for your help.
