Hey everybody, I've a regular here on SDN as far as looking at posts and breakdowns, but decided to make an account because I seriously feel like you guys could help me out with advice. I'm planning on taking the DAT the first week of September and have been studying since June. So far, I read through Cliffs AP Bio, took a lot of bootcamp exams, made it through Orgo and Gen Chem destroyer twice, did some math destroyer, and am 4/5 of the way through bio destroyer. I also watched Chads videos on Gen Chem.

So basically, after taking bootcamp tests to assess myself, I'm in the following ranges over many exams:
Orgo: 24-29
GChem: 18-23
Bio: 16-18 :annoyed:
PA: 17-20
QR: 18-22
RC: 16-18 :bang:

I did two achiever exams and got 16AA/16TS and 17AA/16TS on them and gave up on the program because of difficulty level.

Both Chems I feel very good with. Perception seems fine, and QR should be better after I tackle math destroyer more, which i get usually 11-14 problems wrong in when timed. They're the same types of questions that I get wrong, and that should be easily improved. However the QR scores on bootcamp can be deceiving and worrying because a 21/40 was 19. I'm familiar with how they score so it makes sense though.

The biggest concerns I have and that I need advice in most are Biology and Reading Comp. After I'm done with the bio portion of the destroyer, I should feel better about it, but does anyone have any advice? Also, Reading Comp is just impossible to me. If I read all the way through, I rush and miss questions. If I skim and write down the main ideas of each paragraph, I am able to finish, but at this point, I'm out of resources to take practice tests from. I used that method on my last RC on bootcamp and got a 19 and have no idea if it was just luck because I found those passages easy. Any advice would be helpful!

And also when should I take the 2007 and 2009 ADA exams? Soon? Or closer to the actual test date?

The real rc passages on the exam are easy to read, and short! I got a 23 on the RC section, and all I did was read the whole passage, jot down a couple words on each paragraph and move on to the questions. I was able to finish on time.

Take the 2007 (really easy) and 2009 (frustrating) exams really close to your exam date. I also highly recommend taking full length bootcamp tests, they are really accurate and will be very close to what you will score.

Qr is a time thing, I was getting scores like you on bc..but on the real I got 19 🙁
Just stay on top of your time and you will do great!

Bio is a crapshoot. Also you will get a few really weirdly worded off questions

Btw your chemistries are really on point 🙂

Thanks a lot! A 19 in QR is fine. A feel like many school would just look at that score in QR and be content. How did you feel about Math Destroyer; was it more representative than bootcamp?
