  1. Pre-Dental
I need some advice. I am a senior planning on taking a year off but applying this cycle in June.

I will be graduating with roughly an overall gpa of 3.38 and a science gpa of around 3.21. I know my gpa is pretty low but I really don't want to do a post bacc program or masters program because of how expensive they are.

I have a 22 on my DAT which I am considering retaking to get maybe a little bit higher but still am unsure if I want to go through it again.

I have over 200+ shadowing hours and 150+ volunteer hours.

I need some advice on what to do during my year off. Ideally I would like to work in a dental office and save up some money but if need be I will apply to masters programs as well to higher my GPA. What do you guys think about my stats and is it even worth it for me to apply this upcoming cycle? I'm hoping if I apply really early I will have a chance at getting in somewhere early.

Retaking with a 22 DAT? Not sure if serious.

I think you should just apply early in June. You only have 5 months until the application opens anyway. See if you get in with your current grades, your DAT is already pretty good, retaking it would risk a lower DAT score. If you don't get in this upcoming cycle: enroll in an informal post bacc or 1 year masters program. The 1 year program would be the better option.

Honestly, your stats don't seem too shabby at all. Sure, it's on the lower end, but people have gotten in with lower. A 22 DAT is great! I wouldn't consider a retake.

I would not consider a retake. Instead, make sure that you apply early and broadly. My GPA is around yours, my DAT is lower, and I applied a little late (10th batch) and I still have three acceptances!
