Hi everyone!

I am applying for a scholarship. I asked three of my professors for letters of recommendation. Two of my professors already submitted their letters of recommendation. One of my professors, however, has yet to submit a letter. I am a little bit worried since the scholarship letters are due this upcoming Monday (March 28). I emailed my professor various times already and I don't want to bother or seem annoying since I know how busy professors are. I have listed the times I have contacted my prof. (who now works at another university) so you guys can get an idea:

1.( One month ago) I asked for the letter since my prof. always offered that he could write one for me since I'm a good student. He said yes.

2. (Two weeks ago) I asked if he needed anything else and I submitted my CV and personal statement. He said that he would get right to it.

3. (A week before the deadline, this past Monday) I emailed him to remind him. He said that he would get right to it, submit the letter by this Friday (March 25), and send me a conformation email. I know that he hasn't submitted it since I get an email from the scholarship website that informs me when letters are submitted.

Now, the weekend has come and the letter is due this Monday (March 28). Any advice on what I should do?

Thank you very much in advance! 🙂

Email him again ASAP and hope for the best. And in the future, don't rely on him for a LOR, and always ask an additional professor in case someone else falls through. This latter point is worth remembering for medical school, residency, and fellowship applications 🙂. Hope everything works out for your scholarship!

Thank you for your valuable advice! 🙂

Hi! He submitted the letter on time last night. I learned that it is always important to ask an additional professor for a letter just in case. But, then again professors are busy people so ask someone who you can trust. Above all, patience is key and like you said it is important to hope for the best! Thank you again! :soexcited:
