I'm sorry to hear about your step 2 failure. I think the answer to your question is based on how well you do in UW. I would use your UW percentage to predict whether or not you would pass for the second time. You can take the NBME tests too. As long as your scores are persistent above the passing score (I think it's 55%), you should be ok.

If you failed by a point, and just want to pass, I think a month will be plenty.

Focus on getting through UW. Perhaps a shorter text like Boards and Wards or Secrets would be higher yield.

I think one month is plenty and you're right on track for smoking it next time- just do all the questions you possibly can and stick to one source.
