Does a previous history of depression and OCD pose problems for a student to carry on with the career in psychiatry field? Is it advisable to opt for Psychiatry residency or not? ..Thanks.

Seriously though, I don't think it's too much different than in any other medical specialty. They all require a lot of time, effort, and some degree of introspection just to get through residency. I'd think that if you can make it through med school, residency should be ok. Previous history can still lead to recurrances. Try to get on a good regimin if you need it - earlier than later.
