On my my to work. Was pulled over by state patrol. According to the officer, I was swerving, etc. apparently almost or failed field sobriety. I do no drink, nor smoke, or illicit drugs. I took rx meds from a dentist. Yes I should have known better. They took me to the hospital, took blood, then drove me home. I never signed anything, nor sat In a jail cell. No pictures taken. They just said they'd be in contact after 2 weeks when results came back. What now. WILL I lose my job??? Help please. Help

I wouldn't call a painter to tailor a suit. You shouldn't ask a pharmacist to interpret the law. Call an attorney. Anything given here is pure speculation (and mostly uninformed). without specifics (i.e. what state, city, county) advice given here is useless as punishments and regulations very significantly.

Get a lawyer. Don't take this lightly.

I understand, but sitting here on a weekend wondering is killing me. Advice is what I would like to see. Even support.

Whatever done is done. You can't change it. Don't say anything before you talk to a lawyer.

Rent a movie. Play with your kids (if you have them). Go to the movies. Go on a date. Call a friend up. Honestly, do anything other than be by yourself. You know what you have to do come Monday, so try to take you mind off it for a few hours.

What state is this?

DUIs are handed out like candy in my state. The BOP knows that.

You'll probably be ok. Don't waste money on a lawyer. The outcome with a lawyer or just you representing yourself will probably be the same (I'm assuming you told them you were on pain meds).

You'll need to notify the board within a certain amount of time.

As mentioned above, as a pharmacist and not a lawyer, I'm just speculating. Were you actually charged with anything? If you weren't charged with anything, than I wouldn't think you would have to inform anyone of anything. If the charges are pending, then certainly if you end up being charged with anything, I would get a lawyer, if there are no charges, than go on with your life.

I assume you missed work....what did you tell them? That you were detained for possibility of DUI? You probably just should have told them you were sick and had to go to the hospital.....although I guess if you work at that hospital, that might not have worked. Or did you just not show up for work? Are you a new employee on a probationary period at work? If that's the case, yes, they can fire you for anything. If not, even with at will employment, an employee isn't going to fire you without a documented cause....no-show is possibly a reason to get fired. Otherwise, I would think it would again depend on whether or not you end up being charged with anything.

I got ticketed because of drowsy driving. I was swerving, cop pulls move over, no alcohol, but I can barely stand or do any of his tests. I was like awake for 40 straight hours at that time. Apparently at that point, your mental function is worse off than being legally drunk.

Harrowing

Sorry, if you took "Rx meds from a dentist" which I assume were a narcotic you were DUI. I also question your ability to practice if you lack the understanding that narcotics and driving and working in a pharmacy don't mix. good luck.

Failing field sobriety tests on the way to work. That is harrowing.

"Status: Pharmacist"

....

In most states driving under the influence of prescription medications still constitutes a DUI even if you were legally prescribed it. You might want a lawyer.

Hi, I am truly sorry for what happened to you. I got pulled over by some d**khead cops the other day for insignificant bullsh*t too. They are just a bunch of jerks. I have never been so angry, almost as angry as I get from having to work in a pharmacy. Keep your head up, and I hope things get better for you man.
