Advocate Christ Medical Center is located in the SW side of Chicago in Oak Lawn. From what I've heard, it's a strong location for consult elective w/many patient contacts, and you get to rotate with UIC residents and Dr. Wichter (who I have been told is a legend in his own way).

What are the hours of your pretty standard neurology rotation? Just figuring out when to take the USMLE. Yep, its that time of the year.

i completed the christ neuro rotation back in 2001 so things may have changed. i found it to be a very long day. i remember getting to the hospital at 8am and leaving around 5pm each day. it was generally a huge team led by an attending from the wichter group. the chief was a UIC neurology upper level who led a team of Christ FP residents, Christ IM residents, a UIC neurology lower level and a bunch of med students from CCOM, UIC, and CMS. Sometimes, two attendings would show up and the team was spilt into two groups that would divide and conquer. the census was so large that rounds would last the whole day. when new consults or admissions came, a resident or medical student would break off from the team and would later rejoin the group to present the new consult or admission.
it was a decent neurology rotation but felt somewhat disorganized.
