Can some people please comment on the application process for AEGD. I guess what I'm most curious about is what's considered most important in determining if you get a position and where you go (GPA, Part 1 scores, class rank, etc). What's looked at more? Any other tips on making yourself more competitive would be appreciated.

All of the above. At least in the Army there are unfilled slots every year since it doesn't count as payback any more. I think the Navy is similar.

Bottom line all the above will help, if you know any big time Military Brass that will help you more than anything else though, get a letter from some higher ups, and you'll be in easily.

Same. All of the above. The Air Force has some sort of ranking system, using your scores and interview which is put next to your list of AEGD locations, that will determine where you will be stationed for the AEGD.

There where 12 AEGD locations in the Air Force this last cycle.

USAF Academy, Colorado
Offutt AFB, Nebraska
Bolling AFB, Washington DC
Eglin AFB, Florida
Keesler AFB, Mississippi
Langley AFB, Virginia
Nellis AFB, Nevada
Scott, AFB Illinois
Sheppard AFB, Texas
Travis, AFB California
Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio
Elmendorf AFB, Alaska

Is an AEGD needed to apply to military specialties or can you get in without one?
