Hi,
Anybody has any comment about which one is the best a two year AEGD that leads to a license or the same program extended to three years with a master degree in the end???
Is it worth spending three years to get a masters degree??
(remember its impossible to take the three year master program and get the AEGD certificate after the first two years. If it was so...this dilemma would not exist 🙂

thanks for the advice 😕

Please anyone? give me some advice what to do????
Any input or comment about AEGD or MS ????????

Hi saraman

Firstly, sounds like you are talking about the Rochester Eastman AEGD program?

Secondly, the MS will be a general Masters, helpful if you stay in academic field not otherwise.

Thirdly, after 2 years of AEGD if you can take license then I should go for it. Once you get license then you can always do a MS in a clinical subject of your choice.

Good Luck

But dont forget getting into AEGD progrmas is highly competitive. You might be competing with people who already have their Masters in Ortho/OMFS and so on. I do not mean to imply that getting into Masters is a peice of cake specially if u r aiming for the clinical branches but its relatively easier.
You can get a license to practise in about 13 states if you have a Masters (even Masters in Dental Public Health) and not al universities have 3 years Masters some have 2 years courses ( I dont know which ones). So going for Masters just makes a little more sense to me.
Good luck in your endeavors!!

Thanks for your help...
Would you elaborate about the clinical branches when one does masters?
Which branches are in your opinion best and most popular??
/thanks again for all your inputs
