Dear Friends

Does Anybody Know How Is The Quality Of The Aegd Residency In Univ Of Minnesota, Dental School. Recently They Have Made It Mandatory That All Residents Pay Tuition Of $25,500 Per Year For The Residency.

This Kind Of Attracts International Dentists Because Not Many U.s Citizens Want To Work For Free And Pay Tuition Also. I Am Planning To Apply For This Residency. Please Let Me Know If You Have Heard Anything About This Residency.

Thanks

Hi Vennai

How this residency going to help the licensing process? If they allow one to take NERB or similar exams evn after 2 years of AEGD it's going to be cheaper than Advanced Standing programs. I am sure all of us love to know so please explain.

Thanks,

rahmed

You answered the question yourself. Once you are done with one year of AEGD in Minnesota you can apply at same institution or some other institution because you already have one year of clinical experience in U.S what more dental schools want?? Usually International dentists dont get AEGD because we lack U.S clinical experience which this institution is likely to offer for some tuition.

Is that true. I heard that they are going to close doors for International dentists. But that wont affect anyone who is doing Masters program in Clinical Dentistry, DDS ( advanced standing) or anyone who is doing AEGD program because all these programs are ADA accepted clinical programs.

Let me know what you think

Vennai

yeah Vennai , it is true...I;m sure about it...
of course the AEGD or any other program is the solution ...
But the only problem for the Advance Standing and AEGD the money
it is really expensive how an intl dentist who is not holding a green card or have a co-signer will have a loan? I'm one of them ! How can we get money to afford this big amount of money!!!!!!
they are making every thing impossible

will they allow u to do nerb .will they allow u to be licensed . even after doing aegd do u still have to do dds. as in NY there is a similar program but u still have to do DDS so u can practice. people do it only because then they have better chance of getting accepted in advanced standing as u have proven urself to them and they have kind of seen u and ur clincal experience
