To the best of my knowledge, to take the FPGEE, a five year degree is the minimum degree accepted. A 4 year BS does not qualify if you graduated after January 2003. A BS Pharm + MS Pharm would be considered to be acceptable.

thank u for ur guidance, plz guide me little bit more. So, this FPGEE exam is for PharmD entrance or for pharmacist license?
when i'll come to U.S. after my 4yr dgree i'll get direct admission to MS or PharmD or I have to take any exam for it? (i'm green card holder)

hi, If you want to work in USA you must get the license and the first step is taking the FPGEE test, but if your degree is less than 5 years then you have to complete the pharm D in an universisy of USA. Each university is different some of then ask you to take a test to see your knowlegde others need that you take the Pcat regarless your experience......is a very long and painfull process but is not imposible ........the green card is important but it doesnt mean anything for the board of pharmacy.... good luck

What type of masters in pharmacy?(or at least how long should the MS program be?)
In what country can you get this type of degree?

And are you sure that having a masters after a bachelors would count towards the 5 year requirement?

A masters in pharmacy +bachelors in pharmacy would probably qualify as equivalent (4 years +1 year). Contact the NABP for clarification. Some countries offer a clinical masters degree in pharmacy, instead of a PharmD.

We have a similar situation, but I already graduated and a registered pharmacist in my country. Unfortunately, no you cannot take the FPGEE, what you can do is enroll in a PharmD program. There are special programs for situation like ours; one is in Western University in Pomona, CA. Check out their IPBP. Having a green card is not actually an added plus but that would mean, you don't have to go through the hassle of applying a student's visa.

Hello all,
I've been reading messages posted here. So, if you have a 4-year pharmacy degree from outside USA you've to enroll yourself in a program like 'International Post Baccalaureate Pharm.D. (IPBP) Program' at Western. But do students complete the program and obtain a Pharm.D. or just complete 1st year, take FPGEE, and start working?

hello all
i have done bachelors in pharmacy in 2007,a four year degree.my query is m i eligible for FPGEE ?i have read the FPGEC BULLETIN in which 5 year degree was demanding for taking this exam...if this is true wat is the other way out to get license in US?should i have to study for one year and then i can qualify this exam or wat ...plz help

thanks

I have a 4 yr BPharm degree fron Mumbai, and I am going to be taking the FPGEE (in 4 weeks)..but I do have a MS (and a PhD too) from the US..

They (ECE**) did not ask for my MS or PhD transcripts (I guess they verified privately); I just mentioned my MS and PhD in the ECE application form where you need to fill out all your educational work from high school on...

**Nowadays to apply for FPGEE you need to submit your credentials to the Educational Credential Evaulators..and apply to the FPGEC in parallel..

ECE needed my BPharm transcripts and a copy of the degree..

Starlix, how are you eligible for FPGEE? Did you graduate before 2003?

Has anyone here taken programs equivalent to A-levels or IB before admission to 4 year pharmacy course? If so, were you eligible?

And as far as I know, I don't think Master in pharmacy would help at all. Bpharm graduates from India took masters in pharmacy but they ended up being INeligible. If anyone has had an experience contradicting this, please let us know
