Hello everyone,
I was wondering if after being accepted into a dental school, does everything pretty much restart? Does your undergraduate GPA matter if the idea of specializing comes about later in dental school? I've heard residencies do ask for undergraduate transcripts, but is doing well solely in dental school and the standardized tests for those specialties the most important aspect? I'm asking because I know I am competitive right now for dental school, and at least will still land a spot at one dental school of the bunch after a drop in my GPA, but I'm worried that as this year progresses my GPA will have a hard hit. Thanks for the feedback!

for md/oms programs, the medical school has a stake in the applicant's undergraduate gpa because they're accepting them into their medical school

single degree oms programs emphasize the undergrad performance probably less than the md programs do

I don't know anything about ortho. the other specialties are generally less number driven

performance during dental school is obviously much more important than what happened in undergrad

Like what? (e.g. FICO score, GPA, etc., etc.???)
