Hi all. It's been approximately forever since I've posted, but I have a pressing question that I just can't find the answer to. I'm scheduled to take Step 2 CS in LA on a Monday in August, which is all well and good, except that I got the afternoon session, which starts at 3 PM. The USMLE site cautions that the test lasts EIGHT HOURS, which would have me getting out of there at 11 PM.

Are they serious? Eight hours? 11 PM? I am trying to schedule a flight back up to Sacramento, but if I really won't be free till 11 PM, then I'll have to fly back as early as humanly possible the next morning in order to try to get to my rotation in time for rounds.

Has anyone else done the afternoon session? What was it like? Do you really stay till 11 PM? 🙁

I took CS in Philadelphia a few weeks back. I was in the morning session. We had to be there by 8am for sign in/orientation etc. The test actually started around 9am and ended at approximately 3:30pm. Shouldn't be much different for the afternoon session I reckon.
