Ok so here is the situation..we received our first genetics exam grades today and I scored like a 63% I am freaking out! The average was a 54% low 23% high 92% (1). So here is my question: if I happened to get a C for my final grade in this class, would Dental School look down on this...or is this a class that they let slid as a C? I have heard that genetics is really challenging at any school, well at least this is what my prof told me.. probably a way to make himself feel justified that he makes his exams so dang hard. Any suggestions and/or comments are appreciated!!!

Stop worrying so much. Genetics is a hard course any any university as many techniques and concepts in genetics is a little out there for most people. I got a 63 on my first genetics test too but I studied hard and aced my final and lab project to pull off an A-. You can do it too.

If you do get a C then it isn't the end of the world.

from the looks of it, i would say that the OP must have NEVER gotten had such a grade in his/her life. that grade is definitely at least a B- if the class is curved. the standard deviation would no way be above 10 with THAT many low grades... you'll be fine op. 3.5 gpa+ can afford at least a couple of C's haha.

you give me hope cmistry! i got to take 1 ochem class again due to an ex....ugh. ill fix that grade right up.

Well from what I was told by my professor and other students is that he never curves the grades! What you get is what you receive kind-of-thing. No I haven't gotten any grade that low before...I am just concerned because all I hear is how competitive D-school is!
