so a friend of mine was doing an LP today and said she got about a quarter size of CSF from an AIDS pt on her intact forearm's skin. There was no gross breaks/cuts in her skin, what is her chance of transmission. I had NO freakin clue what to tell her..

Very low, but I cannot comment on exact risks. In fact, I do not believe it's been studied (or at least I do not know of the study). 1:300 is the risk with a hollow-bore needlestick, so the risk of her contracting it are even lower.

I do hope she reported it though!

I'd wash it off well, then off to the doctors lounge to eat lunch. Wouldnt even worry about it.
