By far the biggest HIV/AIDS research organization in the country is the AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG), which is funded by the NIH through NIAID. The ACTG has a few sites in the Boston area: http://www.aactg.org/clinicaltrials_actulocator.asp#MA. I would start by contacting them.

what area of research are you interested in? bench research? clinical research? i currently work on a project where we use computer-based modeling of hiv to determine the cost-effectiveness of different interventions, so it's a very policy-oriented project. we are currently looking to hire a new RA and are already interviewing, but if you happened to be the perfect match, i bet our bosses would consider you. pm me if interested. also, this website might be useful; it lists jobs at all "partners" institutions: mass general hospital, brigham and women's hospital, and others. turnover with the postings is pretty frequent. good luck!
