I am going to be attending OD school in the Fall 2004 and I have been looking at several different options in paying my tuition. I recently talked to a recruiter about the HPSP scholarchip that the Army, Navy and Air Force offer. Is or has anyone ever participated in this program, if so what do you think? I am seriously considering it and if anyone has heard stories either way it would be very helpful. Thanks

I have a friend on Air Force scholarship. Her only gripe seems to be they take FOREVER to get her tuition paid (she usually gets dropped from classes and has to go back and scream at people to get re-added). But they are paying her tuition (when they finally get around to it) and for ALL of her textbooks. (She's my reference library when I need to look something up)

She has to give them back two years when she graduates. But, she knows she has a job and they give her a stiped per month to live on.

If you're single this is a great way to go !!

WIll she work as a civilian, or will she get some kind of military rank?

Dear J.opt,

A new graduate of the scholarship program will enter with the grade of captain unless there are other service credit that can be ascertained.

There is a two year active duty commitment after OD graduation? Is it possibly three years now?
