FYI

This will be my third and last application to the WWAMI program but I just wanted to share my thoughts with you guys. The second time I applied I was interviewed in January and about a week later I received the "you are competitive" letter. It seemed like a life time waiting for the next round of interviews and committee meeting. So, I prefer the Feb interview because the exec committee meets the day after and the decisions are made. You hear pretty quickly after that. Dr Hunt insisted that the February interviewees are not at a disadvantage since the majority of students receive the "competitive" letter to allow the adcom folks to evaluate the entire applicant pool.
Good luck to all you AK applicants - I wish we could all get in but it is the most competitive state of all the WWAMI sites.

To the top for Alaska hopefuls.

hey,

this will be my second time interviewing as an alaskan wwami applicant. i got the competitive letter last year too (it only took like three days) and then i was picked as the the 9th alternate . . . when i talked to dr samson this summer he told me that it would "quite dubious" to be selected . . . pretty funny stuff. anyhow i don't have all of my hopes hanging on udub this year, thankfully. i will be down there the 25th of january. anybody else going to be in seattle around then?

btw, best of luck to my fellow alaskans.
