I think things this year will be quite different from the past few years. Sure, the average GPA over the past few years was 3.9, but back then they didnt require an interview and writing assessment. Starting this year, they require an interview and writing assessment. In other words, they will starting to look for more well-rounded students rather than booksmarts.

They don't do writing assessments and they wont even consider interviewing you unless you have a high GPA. That's just how they are. 3.9 is this years expected GPA.
