I like DC more than new york and GWU has been much more supportive and welcoming and showing great opportunities and community support for students. Albert Einstein is ranked higher but they've put in little to no effort to welcome new students or offer any resources for starting med school. GWU seems like a much warmer environment and DC is great! But Albert Einstein is ranked higher so maybe i'd get a better education there? What do yall think?

What's the difference in COA? If none I would choose GW. Seems like you like the school a lot more and both schools will give you the same education.

If there was no cost difference then go to GW as you like the school and DC more.

Yeah sure rank difference blah blah but that'll have little tangible difference on your life, whereas happiness, location, cost are much more important.

GW also seems to regularly match into competitive specialties such as dermatology, surgical specialties etc: Match Day 2020 | The School of Medicine & Health Sciences

As of now looking like the same cost (or not enough to make a difference)! Mostly of course my concern was with match and maybe going to a higher ranked school makes really a big difference how prepared you are to match into a residency.... any thoughts?

Thank you so much for the reply!! In my mind, a higher ranked school might mean being more prepared for step and more competitive for residency... They are both pretty solid schools, but Albert Einstein is 39 and gwu 60 is according to USnews this year! Pretty big difference but maybe has less of an impact than what I'm thinking..?

In my opinion, 40 vs 60 is negligible. Also, step 1 is now pass/fail and both of these schools will give you the tools to do well on step 2. I think you're relying a bit too much on prestige here for schools that are pretty closely ranked.

The rank has nothing to do with "quality of education" or preparedness for step 1. It is mostly based on research funding, stats of the students in the school, peer evaluation etc.

While prestige does matter to some extent, I don't think there is some significant gulf between AE and GWU.

Great!! Thank you so much for the input! Very appreciated🙂
