in destroyer roadmap (the second to last one), in the left side when you add heat, AlC and KOH...what doesthe AlC stand for?

tried looking it up in the books and google wikki land and got not conclusive results, this is probably a silly Q but it's bugging me now that I can't remember or find it so hopefully someone knows what it is

EtOH is ethanol right?

are you saying that AlC is just Ethanol as well or some other alcohols too?

yea i had this queston on my exam. it said alc on the real exam too. thank god i remembered that reaction

Alc is plain alcohol or ethanol.

Alc is alcohol. It means any alcohol, but in reactions when a specific alcohol is not given - EtOH is usually considered the standard.

The only alcohol with the common name of alcohol is ethanol.
