I went to school in a town whose nightlife is almost entirely the downtown bar scene. So, I made some bad decisions and with a little bit (actually, a lot) of bad luck I ended up with four citations for possesion under the legal age. Just curious if by chance any of you had similar citations on your records and what the interview process was like concerning them and your success upon applying.

Also anyone else with any opinions on the subject please chime in. My resume would probably be good enough to get at least a secondary at most of the schools I will apply if not for the tickets, and believe me, I have heard everything from "you are screwed" to "it won't matter that much", but not much advice from peers b/c I hate telling people (this anonymity thing is nice!) Thanks all.

I have had a few myself, and was delighted to see that they only look for felonies on your record. I'm assuming these were all misdemeanors, unless you did something really crazy

ha i thought it was funny at the end of the brown interview day where the dean commented that he thought it was more normal to have citations as a college student than to not.

One of my friends is in a very good school now. He had a very colorful incident in the distant past which I won't get into and they were willing to look past it.

Advice from his mistake:

-Try to make it look like youthful indiscretion(s)
-Show that you've learned your lesson
-Get an unbelievably high MCAT score

where would you have to list this on the AMCAS, I don't remember seeing anything other than felonies ?

Cincy asks for traffic violations.

So does Vermont...I've had 2 speeding tickets. That's probably why they haven't given me that interview they keep taunting me with.

good thing I'm already waitlisted, that way I don't have to tell them about that speeding ticket I got over the weekend...

<_<

>_>

I asked about the traffic violations thing. They said they only get concerned if you "exhibit a pattern of reckless behavior"
