anyone have insight into the following:

If one is applying to 2 specialties- does the following algorithm still hold, (ie) those who interview at 10 spots have a 99 percent chance of matching? or because there are 2 specialties does this change the predictive value of matching?

This is only a general rule; it's different for each specialty.

According to the NRMP publication "Charting Outcomes in the Match," even those who ranked >15 programs in dermatology had only a 93% chance of matching (25/27 applicants matched).

Conversely, those who ranked only 3 programs in Family Medicine still had a >99% chance of matching (106/107 applicants matched).

So you have to figure out what your chances of matching in each program are and decide how many programs you need to rank in each specialty separately.
