Girlfriend's birthday is coming up and she'll be an MS3 soon. Thinking about getting her a pair of Allbirds. I personally wore Allbirds wool runners for every rotation I was on, and only received comments on how comfy they look from residents and attendings. Would these be appropriate for her to wear too? Also, who really cares as long as you're not wearing something super flashy like Off-Whites?

I’m all about the comfort. I wore Clark’s through all my rotations because they didn’t suck. Get her the allbirds if you found them super comfy

Allbirds were the BEST clinical shoes for me as a lady.
They were comfy and I could walk around all day.
I got a few colors, so I didn't wear the same pair day in and day out (last longer, smell less).
They were perfectly acceptable with business clothes and with scrubs. Especially since I tried to coordinate the color with my outfit.
Machine. Washable. And like, ACTUALLY machine washable...they really get clean.
Light, not too hot, very comfortable.

@mehc012 - do you have the flats or the tennis shoes? All their styles are cute! Thanks!

Wool runners as my everyday go-to. I want to build up a collection of the flats...I have one pair and they're SUPER comfortable.

Wait the runners are okay as business casual for a female?

Any chance does blood get out of them in the wash?

Never heard of allbirds. My colleagues put me on to Cole Haan. I love them and now have ~10 pairs of rotation-professional shoes from there and ~5 pairs of casual shoes from there all purchased this year (M3). My favorite are their loafers, professional enough but super comfortable.

Allbirds are great! I saw a lot of people wear Rothy’s flats too, and everyone said they were super comfortable.

Nobody ever gave me crap for it.

It's never come up. I've never gotten blood on any of my shoes (even in OB or surgery).
I HAVE had them sucked off of my feet while wading through mud, dug them up, rinsed them off, and then tossed them in the wash. Good as new.

Very practical, useful gift, but throw in something fun/romantic into the box as well. Just strikes me a bit like getting a vacuum cleaner.
