Is there a way to search for programs in ALL states? I noticed in the osteo programs you can select "all states" but not when searching for allopathic residency programs...
I have searched for that function and it doesn't look like it. I have been going through each state at a time.
if you choose the speciality and pick the blank for states you get :
Either type in an ACGME ID for a program or select the State/Speciality pairing to look up a program.
If you just want a list go to http://www.acgme.org/adspublic/
click list of programs by speciality on the left hand side and it will generate a list of all the programs.
I find that really odd. Anyway, I Emailed them. Let you guys know if I hear back...
Really? You emailed them? Why? This isn't rocket science...it's not even brain surgery. Hell, it's not even orthopedic surgery.
If you choose only a specialty on FREIDA and not a location, it will list all the available programs, unless there are >250 in that specialty, in which case, it will tell you to dial it back a notch cowboy. Then you can choose to list programs by state, or by region (New England, Mid-Atlantic, Mountain, Pacific, SE, etc). I can't imagine you'd need a list of every single IM (or Peds, or FM or Gen Surg or ....) program in the nation all at once.
I want a categorical list of neuro programs. There are 120+ neuro programs in the US and I don't want to go through each state in the nation on ERAS to figure out which ones are categorical where.
I know you can apply advanced search filters in freida but the results are not clean cut. I.e. there are two places where you can mark "does not require prior graduate level medical education" vs "does not offer prelim year" etc...Bottom line, if MyERAS has "all states" for osteopathic programs they should be able to facilitate the same thing for allopathic programs. You're right, it's not rocket science---->Emailed them.
But that's not the question you asked. You asked "Is there a way to search for programs in ALL states?" And the answer is "Yes, just leave the location option un-checked."
