I figure that there are plenty of us that are waiting to hear about movement at the different schools, I just thought that maybe we should have one thread to show all of those that are giving up seats or inquiring about waitlists. This will also help those that are waiting to hear from multiple schools.

So if you could update us whenever you or someone you knows gives up their seat that would be great. Good luck to all you waitlisters.

I asked sonnie at SCO today where the waitlist was and she said that they've sent out the acceptance letters that would fill the class. She said so far they've used 7 ppl off the alternates list. She says they're still waiting for a few deposits. So I guess there are still a few seats up in the air. They rank their waitlist, so she says if you have not been notified of a rank an have sent in final transcripts, it's not looking as good. If you haven't sent in your final transcripts yet, you could possibly move to ranked on the waitlist.

Why don't you just call the schools your interested in going to?

I know where I am at on the waitlist that I am watching. I know that there are plenty of people watching and waiting for their waitlist to go down. I wanted this thread to be a tool that all us waitlisters could use universally. For example a student dropping their seat at one school can trigger movement that might open up a seat at another school, and so on. The schools do keep their alternates updated, but a post of an open spot here and there keeps us uplifted and keeps us from calling the schools every day.

The problem with this is that less than 10% of applicants actually frequent/post on SDN. There's lots of other movement going on that you're not hearing about.

So true. Every time I've asked if someone is on sdn, they don't even know what I'm talking about.

I somehow don't think that's often the case.

NECO hasn't ranked their waitlist yet, and don't plan on doing so until a seat opens up.

Curious to know... do schools keep the waiting lists set after they rank applicants or can your rank change?

If they're done interviewing, then the shouldn't change. If, however, they are still interviewing applicants, it's possible that a new interviewee could be ranked ahead of you if their application warrants.

...anyone have any recent progress or info or updates to share?...I'm totally dry and just keep getting a bunch of "out of the office for vacation" emails from the various admissions people...

I've got some good news~ I just got accepted at NECO!
Waitlists are moving, so don't lose hope!

I call a couple days ago and the person I talked to says last she heard, there were about 40 people on the waiting list. I asked her if she knew the number of people that got accepted off the list last year; she said she doesn't remember but that it was quite a few?

ICO should have one more space. I decided on NECO, after a week and half of agonizing over my decision. 😛
