If I am extremely allergic to a medication, is it still safe to handle (esp. if it is a powder that has to be made into a liquid)?

I feel like this is a stupid question, but I just want to make sure!

Do I need to worry about inhaling something I'm extremely allergic to?

If you had an anaphylactic reaction (severe allergic reaction often involving hives and difficulty breathing due to inflammation of the airways) to it, then stay as far away as possible from it! If you can't totally avoid it in the pharmacy and you have had anaphylaxis, then make sure you always have an Epi-Pen and some Benadryl (diphenhydramine) ready.
