i am going to try and make a long story short. i need any advice and help that i can find!

-my undergrad GPA was great
-my DAT scores not so great (took summer after jr year)
-i retook the DAT and did much better (took the summer after sr. year)
-i enrolled in a one-year master's program during my year off

-interviewed at IUSD and UofL in september
-accepted to both schools december 1st
-chose IUSD and placed my deposit

-my father was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in august
-i considered dropping out of the master's program, but decided to stick to my commitments (as stated on my AADSAS and personal statement)
-my father passed away in march
- i received low grades in the second semester of the master's program
--D in biochemistry (i already took a similar biochemistry course in undergrad to fulfill my prerequisite requirement)
--C in developmental neurobiology

-now IUSD is "reconsidering" my offer of acceptance because I dropped below a 3.0 average and have a class below a grade of "C-"
-is there anything i can do??
-i don't have time to retake biochemistry before school is suppose to start in july

--please help! has anyone been in this situation before?

call and explain ur situation. Ask if you can take it during the time off u have from Dschool if possible. I have also heard of some students completing a pre-req after they finishd Dschool ( not sure how prevalent that is). calling and speaking to them is the best idea.

i already spoke to the dean of admissions, dr. kasberg. he told me there was nothing i could do, that they have to "reconsider" all applicants that drop below a 3.0 or receive a grade less than a "C-" in their last semester before matriculation.

First of all, I am very sad for your loss and I wish your family the absolute best.
Write to iusd a letter stating so and tell them you took biochem as an undergrad and did very well in it. Tell them you had to help around the house and help other family members out. They should reconsider you and they will let you in. In the letter try not to ask for their pity, but just try your best to explain the situation to them. I wish you the best of luck and I hope they understand your situation.

Im sorry to hear about your father.... and Im sorry IUSD isn't giving you any leeway (If you ask me, its f****** ridiculous)

What do you wanna do if they revoke the acceptance? Are you going to reapply again? or do you wanna take a year off to get your head straight?

i don't think you're sunk, reconsider doesn't mean you'll be dropped. maybe snail mail them a letter explaining your circumstances.
